Solution Description

Problem description

The problem addressed by the drone relates to the growing demand for stable and secure use of 5G networks in critical infrastructure. Traditional signal coverage measurements and transmitter inspections are costly, time-consuming, and require human intervention at heights, which brings significant risks. Insufficient data slows the deployment of new services and increases telecom operators’ operational costs. By deploying drones equipped with 5G streaming, thermal cameras, and 3D lidar, it is possible to obtain accurate real-time data, reduce inspection costs, accelerate decision-making, and enhance network reliability, which has a direct business impact on the operator’s efficiency and competitiveness.

Solution

The solution was a custom-developed drone that integrates several cutting-edge technologies into one complete system. It is equipped with a specialized thermal camera mounted on a gimbal for wide and stable coverage, a 128-layer 3D lidar for detailed mapping, and a fully automated control system capable of autonomous flight and reacting to unforeseen obstacles. It also includes a customized 5G module, enabling not only coverage detection but also real-time transmission of large volumes of data. This comprehensive approach delivers an efficient, safe, and fast solution for inspections and measurements.
