One of the research directions of the SWARM group is the application of artificial intelligence in the process industry, particularly in the energy sector. We combine domain knowledge with data analysis and AI, which allows us to effectively address challenges in this domain. We have experience with early fault detection, high-level control, and the prediction of energy consumption and prices on energy markets. We conduct applied research in close collaboration with companies, based on their proposed topics. At the same time, we also pursue our own research, where we address the challenges of simultaneous optimization of energy system design and its control.
